10th anniversary of cooperation with the Faculty of Health Sciences and Physical Education of the Kazimierz Wielki University

In 2012 Medical Technology Company „Tech-Med” Ltd. established research and development cooperation with the employees of the Institute of Physical Education of the Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz.

„Tech- Med” company was a leading manufacturer of medical equipment in the region and had a business profile in line with the scientific interests of the employees of the Institute of Physical Education. The first joint activities concerned the bilateral transfer of theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of technological and production innovations that could be implemented in our company. Joint work resulted in the signing of a cooperation agreement in 2013.

Undertaken actions led to realization of project entitled: „Innovative human biomechanical diagnostic devices for sport and the medical sector”. The project was co-financed under the Human Capital Operational Program: Transfer of knowledge and support for cooperation between science and enterprises. The result of the project was the development, in 2015, of an innovative concept of the „Universal Rehabilitation and Training Station”. The construction of the device was designed in terms of proper strength, ergonomics, ease of transport and versatility of use in a sports and rehabilitation environment. The designed device enables providing of individualized rehabilitation therapy and training using safe isometric techniques tailored to the needs of the athlete/patient.

In 2021-2022, the Department of Physical Education implemented a grant for pre-implementation work – increasing implementation readiness. The grant was aimed at creating a prototype of the „Universal Rehabilitation and Training Station”. The device prototype was created in cooperation with our company. The device enables the implementation of new forms of therapy and rehabilitation diagnostics as well as training in various sports disciplines.

The prototype of the „Universal Rehabilitation and Training Station” was presented on the 11th 12th of  May, 2022 during the 15th International Fair „International Invention and Innovation Show INTARG 2022”, in Katowice, where it received a gold medal of innovation, as well as a distinction from the Iranian Institute of Innovation and Research for „The Best Invention”. The prototype also received a silver medal during the „Japan Design, Idea and Invention ”EXPO 2022 Fair, in Kyoto on the 1-3rd of July, 2022.
